Damien Plisson's Audirvana OSX audiophile player release 0.8.0 is available for download. The open source Mac-only music player was covered in our previous article and is still free to download and use, although donations are welcome to keep the development going.
To us, it is one of the best player available especially if you run your file exclusively (hog mode), from RAM (memory playback), and connect to your USB DAC using its "integer mode" bypassing Apple CoreAudio 32-bit floating point calculations with direct data transfers. This last feature is unique among various currently available music playing softwares.
